Our History and Mission

ADISA, formerly known as “REISA” (and before that as “TICA”), is a registered not-for-profit trade association (IRS 501c6) that also has a foundation (IRS 501c3), the ADISA Foundation, which provides college scholarships.

ADISA’s mission is to be the leading trade association for the alternative and direct investment industry providing education, networking, and advocacy for members.

Each year, we host several events – on the West Coast and elsewhere – to bring education and networking opportunities to our members. When circumstances make in-person meetings impossible, as we saw in the spring of 2020, we provide online interactive webinars for our members.

ADISA leads active advocacy work for those in the alternative investment space, keeping members abreast of legislative issues and reaching out to regulators and legislators to provide important information about this “alternative” side (that is, not the traded stock and bond side) of the investment world.
