ADISA Announces 2025 President-Elect and Officers

At its first Board meeting of the year, the new ADISA (the Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association) Board, elected by the membership in late 2024, selected its 2025 officers. John H. Grady of ABR Dynamic Funds begins his term as the 2025 ADISA president, and Matthew Iak with U.S. Energy Development Corporation was elected as the 2025 president-elect and will serve as president in 2026.

The other ADISA officers selected were: Joanna Venetch of Hana Solutions as vice president; Catherine Bowman of The Bowman Law Firm as secretary; and Mark Kosanke of Concorde Investment Services as treasurer. Jade Miller of Bourne Financial Group, ADISA’s 2024 president, will serve the Board as its immediate past president and Karlton Kleis, Arete Wealth Management, was also elected by the Board to serve as a director.

Serving as ADISA’s 2025 president John H. Grady of ABR Dynamic Funds has 30+ years of investment management experience. John serves as ABR Dynamic Funds’ chief operating officer and general counsel. The firm is a registered investment adviser, managing several mutual funds and UCITS sub funds using proprietary volatility-driven strategies, as well as certain private funds. Prior to joining ABR Dynamic Funds, John was a partner at Practus, LLP and DLA Piper LLP. Before that, he held various positions with industry-leading firms focused on managed futures, real estate and other alternative assets and strategies. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and his B.A. from Colgate University.

Matthew Iak is the executive vice president of U.S. Energy Development Corporation and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He has overseen the capital raise of more than $1.6 billion since he joined the company in 2005. Matt has extensive knowledge of private placement, Regulation D, and estate and tax planning strategies. He has led the construction and underwriting of multiple new investment structures in the oil and gas space which include, energy 1031 exchange funds, private capital acquisition funds, and most recently qualified opportunity zone funds. In addition to being on the Board of Directors at U.S. Energy, Matt is a member of the company’s second generation leadership team, serves as the president for a series of family real estate and real estate management companies, and is the CEO and president of U.S. Energy’s managing broker-dealer, Westmoreland Capital Corporation.

Joanna Venetch, founder and principal of Hana Solutions, has over 22 years of experience in financial services, with extensive experience marketing the full spectrum of investment products from fully liquid mutual funds and cash management products to illiquid investments, including non-traded REITs and Reg D real estate development offerings, private equity funds, 1031 DST and oil & gas offerings. Prior to founding Hana Solutions, Joanna held positions in national accounts, marketing, sales, training, client services and management at Cantor Fitzgerald, Griffin Capital, DWS, and Calamos Investments. Additionally, Joanna completed a 4-year tenure as a teacher for Chicago Public Schools. Joanna graduated from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. She holds her FINRA Series 6, 7 and 63 licenses.

Catherine Bowman founded The Bowman Law Firm in 2008 in order to conduct due diligence on public and private securities offerings ranging in size to several billion dollars on behalf of independent broker-dealers, investment advisers, and other financial professionals. Catherine also provides consulting on broker-dealer regulatory and compliance matters; researching ’33 Act and ’34 Act laws and regulations, broker-dealer regulations and state securities laws and regulations; contract negotiation and drafting; as well as providing expert witness services. Prior to founding The Bowman Law Firm, Catherine was chief compliance officer, senior vice president and corporate counsel for CNL Securities Corp., and started her law career more than 25 years ago at Gray, Harris & Robinson, focusing on corporate and securities law practice for publicly held and privately held clients.

Mark Kosanke, CPA, has nearly 30 years of securities industry experience. He is one of the founders of Concorde Investment Services (CIS), a Michigan-based securities broker-dealer firm and is a current owner of Concorde Holdings, CIS’s parent company. He is a president of Concorde Financial Group, which operates as an investment and asset management firm. Prior to Concorde he was at the Detroit office of Price Waterhouse where he concentrated on audit, taxes, and real estate. Mark is active in strategic tax planning and investment portfolio design with over $200 million in assets under management. He is recognized nationally for his proficiency in the 1031 Exchange area.

The other ADISA 2023 Board of Directors are: Jake Heidkamp, FactRight; Christy Hutchison, Shopoff Realty Investments; Kyle Kadish, IBN Financial Services; Rajeev Kotyan, Innovative Advisory Group; Sylvia Kwan, Ellevest; Greg Mausz, Skyway Capital Markets; Ann Moore, International Assets Advisory; David Pittman, Bonaventure; Katie Shook, NexPoint; Mike Underhill, Capital Innovations; Brad Updike, Mick | Law; and David Wilson, Equifinancial. Darryl Steinhause of DLA Piper also serves as a non-voting, volunteer legal counsel, Brandon Balkman of Net Lease Capital serves as the ADISA Foundation president, and Thomas Voekler of Williams Mullen provides volunteer hospitality legal counsel.
